United States of America. Full titles read: “TIMING THEM ! - Uncle Sam’s big guns are tested for velocity by novel device of firing shells through wire screens. L/S’s of several men loading up large artillery piece with shells. Good L/S’s of the gun being fired. M/S’s of a military official examining a square shaped screen with broken wires, that was placed in from of the artillery piece before it was fired. He tells us that to make the gun more accurate it is important to measure the velocity of the weapon. When the wires are broken by the shell then a message is sent back to a machine which can calculate the velocity. Very good footage of the triple barrelled gun being fired into the screen.
