The Internet’s Awe-Inspiring Response to Dog Leather

In 2014, PETA Asia released an investigation into China’s dog-leather trade. In Chinese slaughterhouses, dogs are bludgeoned and killed for leather. Their unlabeled skin is sold all over the world, so if you wear leather, there’s no easy way to tell whose skin you’re in. We asked people to join the fight on social media by sending us photos of their dogs with signs that read, “Your leather could have been me!“ along with the hashtag “#DogLeather.“ The response was fantastic.
