Inspired by my visits to The Public Gardens in Halifax NS. I remember as a child, being there and having a “grown up“ tell me to appreciate my youth as it was fleeting. 50 years later a stranger said essentially the same thing to my daughter. And as life goes on, more young people become old people, encouraging the new-young to enjoy their youth and their lives. This song would have no gravitas if not for the amazing voice of Johnny Cash.
