LAMENT: A Comforting Harp Improvisation by Shannon A. Sims

LAMENT: A Comforting Harp Improvisation by Shannon A. Sims Music and Video Copyright 2023 #harp #folkharp #harptherapy #therapeuticmusic #lament #improvisationmusic #comfortingmusic I took a drama class in high school where we experimented with Improvisation. I hated it. That was the last time I attempted to improvise. Now, as a therapeutic music student through HARP FOR HEALING, I am learning to improvise and I love it! (Not a paid ’m just sharing what I’m learning and where). This is one of my recent improvisations, which means I made it up as I went, using various musical tools. I was in a sad mood that day, thus the Lament. I paired my improv with these videos that I made awhile ago of the Pacific Ocean on the bluffs at Fort Bragg, CA. I love the ocean, and I always feel refreshed and comforted after being there. To make the video, I used iMovie. The audio is the voice recorder on my iPad. I slowed the video down and used a vintage filter for ambiance. I hope you find comfort through this Lament as you experience whatever griefs or difficulties you are going through. Blessings!
