The Dark Side of the Moon Redux is the fifth studio album by Roger Waters, released on 6 October 2023. It is a “re-imagining“ of The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) released for its 50th anniversary. Whilst there has been generally unfavourable reviews from journalists and ’Pink Floyd’ fans alike criticising the replacement of the other Pink Floyd members with “more words;“ there have also been favourable comments especially from Roger Waters’ fans. Whilst many feel the emotion of the original record was missing, and described Waters’ additional lyrics as “Waters talking again, yet somehow not saying much“, others feel the lyrics and much slower pace and tone proves deeply powerful. This re-edited version focuses on the somber tones and stunning musical arrangements without Roger’s monologue. In doing so the piece seems to create an even more engaging immersive experience - which ultimately was probably the original intention. The ’On the Run’ new mix that includes ’One of There Days’ has been added as has also a slowed down version of Any Colour you Like to help bridge the journey that we all take - to the Dark Side of the Moon!
