The 2020 primary is shaping up to be a referendum on the Democratic party, an ideological battle between the traditional, Biden-led wing of status quo politics and an emerging faction led by calls for the political revolution of Bernie Sanders. But the primary, like the 2020 election at large, is only the beginning.
