DCS World - F-15 vs MiG-21 - The Closest Call, Lebanon 1982
Most people interested in military aviation have at least a general idea about the 1982. Lebanon War that was fought between Israel and Syria. And most of them also know that the war ended in a major victory for Israel and especially its Air Force which eliminated Syrian Surface-to-air missile threat and shot down a large number of Syrian fighters without an air-to-air loss. But what chance did the Syrians have? Could any of them have shot down a much more modern and sophisticated F-15 or F-16? In two cases, they came close.
