Trapped freshwater dolphins rescued in Bolivian Amazon
Emergency teams in Bolivia have rescued 24 freshwater dolphins that became trapped in the Amazon. The pink river dolphins, known as ’bufeos,’ were successfully saved after being trapped in lagoons that became disconnected from the main current of the Rio Grande in eastern Bolivia, officials reported. According to a regional government worker, it took the team six days to free the poor animals.
