The Making Of Lil Pump’s “ESSKEETIT“ With CBMIX | Deconstructed

Florida rapper Lil Pump and his close collaborator Smokepurpp are known for their catchphrase “Esketit!” In April, Pump flipped the ad-lib into a new song titled “ESSKEETIT” and scored his biggest hit since breaking through with “Gucci Gang.” The energetic track peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remains his second highest entry on the chart to date. Although Lil Pump’s vocals are an important part of “ESSKEETIT,” his co-production with CBMIX sets the tone for the song. “We ran out of beats, basically, and I was like, ‘Pump, we should start making our own beats,’” CBMIX explains to Genius at the W Hotel’s Hollywood Sound Suite. “The first beat we made ended up being ‘ESSKEETIT’ and the rest is history.” Read more on Genius:
