Whit Monday Procession (1924)

Manchester. Title: “Annual Whit-Monday Procession“. High angled shot of a densely packed crowd in a large square. M/S of elderly men in top hats leading a parade,they are followed by children in white holding flowers. M/S of children in the procession holding ribbons attached to a banner reading - ’St. Simons’. C/U of a little girl in white holding a bunch of flowers and wearing a crown. More shots of the girls holding banners passing, followed by lots of very small children carrying flowers. C/U of several girls dressed in white holding flowers. More shots of the parade, some children holding ribbons attached to a sort of portable May pole stop for the camera. M/S of adults in the procession, women dressed in old fashioned costumes carry banners, the men wear satin sashes, at the end of the procession a group of men carry a large model of Christ on the Cross.
