King Fisher (1968)

Kingston, Surrey. Various shots show prize-winning angler Ray Mumford at home, making floats for angling from quills and corks. We then see Ray sitting by the River Thames at Teddington, attaching a float to his rod and fishing. Ray’s brother Vernon is seen ’ledgering’ - fishing without a float; he covers his home-made bite detector with bread crumbs and maggots (yeuch!), attaches it to his rod and casts it in the water. M/S of Ray putting a handful of maggots into his home-made catapult; he shoots the wrigglers into the water to attract fish to his float. He catches a small fish and puts it into a keep-net in the water. There are no C/Us of squirming maggots in this story. Note: print is quite badly scratched.
