China opens new gateway to giant panda country as flights start at Chengdu’s second airport

Subscribe to our YouTube channel for free here: The first flight from China’s brand new Chengdu Tianfu International Airport took off on Sunday June 27, 2021. The terminal is the second airport in Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan province. Chengdu is now only the third Chinese city after Beijing and Shanghai to open a second airport. The southwestern province is a major tourist destination, drawing travellers to its spectacular landscapes, spicy cuisine and its giant pandas, and planners hope Chengdu will emerge as a key hub for flights to Tibet, South Asia and Europe.
