How Lava has created an Island bigger than 25 football fields in ocean! | La Palma | Canary Islands

Lava from the erupting volcano on La Palma in Spain’s Canary Islands that reached the ocean two days ago has already covered an area bigger than 25 football pitches. Lava reaching the ocean has raised concerns about worsening air quality in nearby residential areas. Fears of explosion continue as molten rock has come in contact with water. Clouds of toxic gases released as the lava hit the ocean have not materialised. The Pevolca volcanic emergency committee warned a forecast change in the wind may bring new hazards. According to the National Institute of Toxicology, Sulphur dioxide levels increased and the ash particles increased in density in Santa Cruz de La Palma. The Spanish Military Emergency Unit measured the quality of the air in Puerto Naos, on La Palma island. #LaPalma #CanaryIslands #Volcano #NEWS9 #Spainvolcano ..............................................................................................
