No titles. Comedian Howard Rogers. Probably filmed at Pathe Studio, London. Howard Rogers, dressed as a parson or vicar (cleric), performs a monologue as if talking to his congregation. He talks of his request for fruit and flowers to decorate the church during the harvest festival and having received half a pint of peanuts. He mentions a boy who has won the school scholarship - “this entitles him to three years at borstal“! He has received a gift of 36 yards of coconut matting which is being made into pyjamas for the men’s convalescent home. More talk of local goings on, with Rogers reminding parishioners that the half a crown they see in the collection plate is screwed on. He tells a story of some boys from the slums visiting their parish. Rogers ends with a bit of advice for younger people - “The boy who will climb the ladder of fame, whom the world admires and cheers, is the boys who strives and plays the game, and washed behind his ears.“ Good illustration of mild-mannered clergyman g
