This is what it’s like to give birth under Israeli bombardment. AJ filmed inside Gaza’s al-Shifa maternity ward before Israeli forces raided the hospital. There are 50,000 pregnant women in Gaza who are forced to give birth under dire conditions, including overcrowding and the lack of proper sanitation, fuel, and medicine. In some cases, women are not given anesthesia for C-sections. Without functioning hospitals, pregnant women will be at even greater risk.
