SolNegre “Ethereal, A Song for Nel“

Solnegre (/ˈsɔɫnə.ɣɾə/) is the Vessel through which we channel our creative impulses and somber thoughts. We consider that this kind of aggressive, melancholic and atmospheric music is a natural language to us, to express not only how we feel, but who we really are… in essence. Solnegre is us without a mask. Its core is a four-piece assembly formed by Gebre and Rigel, bandmates since 1995, who were respectively long-term member and founder of the Doom Metal sextet Helevorn, being main composers on the said project. Through the decades, they managed to successfully release up to four albums and acquired a considerable know how on the Scene and a vast network of peer contacts, which allowed them to play in more than 12 countries on Europe and the Americas, times alone and in some other occasions with some of the biggest names of the doom/death metal scene (Swallow the Sun, Katatonia, Saturnus, Moonspell, Officium Triste, Draconian…the list goes on and on….) “Ethereal“ is the catharsis of a real-world loss, an absolute vivid glimpse of what is to unexpectedly lose someone, created and born from tragedy, a synchronicity with the clear intention to serve as a balm, the blessing of transcendence.
