271 - Thou Shalt Call His Name Jesus / Repairing the Breach - Walter Veith

What’s the truth about how to get to heaven? Is Jesus the only way? Can one world religion get us to heaven without Christ? Can we be reconciled to God without Jesus? The establishment of a united, one world religion will come at a high price to Christians because there can be no compromise on the doctrine of Christ’s role in being reconciled to God. This lecture deals with the centrality of Christ in the plan of salvation. The Bible teaches that it is impossible to be reconciled to God other than through Jesus Christ. Therefore, religious movements that teach reconciliation with God by other means are not entering in through the door but are climbing in through some other way. Such teachings are the thieves and robbers Jesus warned against (John 10:1). Doctrines about reaching heaven apart from Jesus Christ are contrary to the plainest teachings of Scripture. Salvation is Christ-centered and righteousness can be obtained only through Him. Why is that? Man can do nothing without Christ, and any effort exerted for improvement of character emanates from Christ and not from man. Without imputed and imparted righteousness, man stands condemned before a holy God. These doctrines are central to Christianity and any attempt to minimize them or to downplay the divinity of Jesus Christ is contrary to Scripture. How then can Christianity unite with other religions? Unity of world religions is only possible if Jesus Christ is brought down to the level of the human founders of other religious belief systems. One world religion cannot include Bible Christianity because it cannot include Christ. Discover more:
