7YO Regina and Slavik will not see their family for nine months. Their parents put them in a closed boarding school for Nenets, a Samoyedic people from the Tundra. There is no other choice: it is impossible to roam the tundra and also complete their studies.
Their family has a herd of 7,000 reindeer. And every pair of working hands counts. From early childhood, boys help to take care of animals and move from place to place. Meanwhile, girls are involved in making skins and sewing national costumes. But according to the adult nomads, these traditions may die out. Why?
