Mankind hides behind the curtain walls of their arcologies as resource scarcity drives fears of war amid the encroaching devastation brought on by cascade failures in the world’s ecosystems. To ease the strain upon a dying Earth, humanity looks for answers in the stars. The answer is found on Mars. With the Red Planet at opposition, the closest point between Earth and Mars, in the opening days of 2040, Mankind is presented with a unique opportunity. Under the United Nations Joint Agreement on Mars Exploitation ’UNJAM’, a veritable armada of spaceships funded by regional arcologies and corporations are to set off to establish a new, safer home for the human race. This is no easy task. The Red Planet is far from paradise and with its extreme temperatures, harsh radiation, and sparse and hostile atmosphere it looks closer to hell. However, humans are intelligent, stubborn, and most of all, capable of great feats when cooperating.
