More rain expected for Sydney following extreme thunderstorms
Parts of Sydney could be in for a fresh soaking today as the city recovers from powerful storms that brought tens of thousands of lightning strikes and heavy rain.
75,000 lightning strikes were recorded within 100 kilometres of the city on Monday.
One of which struck a tree near the Opera House, resulting in a couple in their 30s, a woman in her 20s, and a 19-year-old man being taken to hospital.
The SES responded to 28 incidents across NSW over the past 24 hours - including seven flood rescues.
Three homes were also reported as having been struck by lightning.
