Fuel Tank

In this episode we take a quick look at the design and construction of the cars aluminium fuel tank. This was a small baffled tank with a reservoir at its base to ensure it didn’t starve the engine while cornering or braking with a low fuel load. The baffles provided enough stiffness that it could also function as the seat back. How to Build a Racing Car follows the design and construction of the FVT05, a car built for the Australian Formula Vee racing series.
