Latvia: Thousands of NATO troops train outside Riga in Silver Arrow drills

Joint NATO military exercises took place in Adazi, just outside Riga on Wednesday, one of the many operations being performed as part of the two-week-long Silver Arrow-2016 drills. Some 3,000 soldiers from Lithuania, Estonia, the US, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands are taking part in the exercises alongside Latvia’s armed forces in a bid to strengthen joint offensive and defensive operations.
