Pierre Trudeau Farewell Speech - 1984

On the eve of electing John Turner as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada in June of 1984, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau addressed party delegates in Ottawa with this farewell speech. With appearance at the end with the future Canadian Prime Minister, a very young Justin Trudeau. “Our dreams for this very country will never die“, ended the speech, a line made more famous a few years earlier in 1980 by U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy:
