Lion And The Lamb (1959)

Ilfracombe, Devon. Several shots show a lamb and a lion cub in an enclosure at Ilfracombe Zoo; they are seen separately, then together, as the cub sits with his paws resting on the sitting lamb (the cub looks rather fierce!). Other animals seen briefly in cutaways are a llama, a sea lion, lions in a cage and an ostrich. Note: correspondence on file between Pathe and the zoo owner, Charles Trevisick, suggest this was the second attempt by Pathe to film the lion and lamb together; on the first attempt the animals “decided not to co-operate“! There is also a news article from the Daily Sketch showing a lion and lamb together. Mute neg is missing for this issue. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
