Black coffee, a watercolor painting by Erik Lundgren

A coffee pot, coffee mug, a package of Zoegas coffee and a coffee filter. This is an exercise I made for my students. It is painted with ivory black, burnt sienna, phthalocyanine green and lemon yellow (Azo). In this painting, I’ll break some of my most important rules: Never paint with black paint unmixed, Never lift up paint with a brush or sponge. The music is by krackatoa - We breathe in the sun.
