Last year, Team France was considered as one of the top contenders to win the Overwatch World Cup given how the region had been represented by the entirety of the seasoned Rogue lineup. Team France made it all the way into the semifinals at BlizzCon, but were unable to advance any further after suffering a 3-1 defeat to South Korea.
