RUFUS WAINWRIGHT - “I’m A Runnin’“ / “I’m Running“ from “Tommy Tricker And The Stamp Traveller“
@Ted-Says - This is a remastered sequence featuring the song sung by a youthful Rufus Wainwright during the chase sequence in the film, “Tommy Tricker And The Stamp Traveller“, but without the action noises interfering with it and also extended somewhat. The song is called “I’m A Runnin’“, although the movie end titles call it “I’m Running“. The location is a Montreal shopping mall where, by filmic coincidence, Rufus just happens to be performing while Tommy Tricker’s sidekick chases three young teenagers.
It’s a great vocal from Rufus on this self-penned rhythmic number with a nice rockabilly feel, not a bad way to start a future solo career, even if the genre of music changed (his eponymous debut album was over 10 years away, issued in 1988).
