Blind Spot / Die Reise nach Lyon (1981) Claudia von Alemann

Elisabeth, a young historian, takes leave of her husband and young daughter to travel to Lyon from Germany. There, she traces the path of the women’s rights activist, Flora Tristan, who lived in Lyon for a short time in the 19th century. Using a small cassette recorder, she explores the young feminist’s world beyond her own academic constraints. Day after day, she wanders through current-day Lyon but keeps the past in her mind. As she walks through empty streets and past faded facades, she meets people in the here and now of the city who tell her about their lives.
