How autonomous vehicles could change the future of healthcare delivery
One of the most promising applications for unmanned vehicles (UV) is healthcare. The Department of Organization and Traffic Safety of the Moscow Automobile and Road Construction Technical University (MADI) was one of the first organizations in Russia to work on UV and intelligent transport systems (ITS). One of the most striking projects was the drone project on the territory of the City Clinical Hospital No. 1 in the name of N. I. Pirogov (Moscow), transporting COVID-19 biological samples from their collection point to laboratories. MADI specialists, with the support of CADFEM CIS, have created a virtual testing ground in Ansys VRXPIRIENCE, which is also used to test the basic functions of an unmanned vehicle before launching on a route. The use of Ansys VRXPIRIENCE helped to save about 20% of testing time and allowed to continue work during heavy snowfalls in the Moscow region in winter.
