Real life ’Bambi on ice’ moment as deer struggles over frozen stream

In a moment reminiscent of Bambi struggling across the ice in the iconic Disney film, this deer in Rutland Water struggled across a frozen stream. Amid -5c temperatures at the eponymous nature reserve, the deer could hardly keep upright as it skated across the ice. Wildlife photographer Tony Marshall, 52, captured the female muntjac deer’s struggles earlier in January.
