Here I present an album of photographs taken of the Alexandrovsky Military School in Moscow,.. The School was a military educational institution of Imperial Russia, training infantry officers. Following a great epidemic of Cholera in 1831, many children of civilian and military officials were orphaned. As a result, the Alexandrinsky Orphan Institute was established. On December 25, 1849, the Alexandrinsky orphan cadet corps was created for 400 orphans of headquarters and chief officers, as well as military and civil officials from hereditary noblemen. Its director was Peter Aleksandrovich Gresser ; battalion commander ........ On April 27, 1867, the school was visited by the Emperor Alexander II , who was very pleased with the institution, and the students and took patronage of the school. Subsequently, the chiefs of the school were the emperors Alexander III and Nicholas II . In order to qualify for the school, students had had to attend military gymnasiums and the term of study was two years... Following the Revolution, the School was closed.....
