Planet of the Apes star William H Macy shares why signing up for new film was ’no-brainer’

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes star William H Macy explained why signing up for the film was a “no-brainer“ at the world premiere in Los Angeles. The actor, 74, plays a character named Trevathan in the fourth film of the rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise. “I saw the original when I was a kid and I remember the gasp from the audience when you saw the Statue of Liberty sticking out of the sand, it’s an iconic image now,“ Macy said at the premiere. “So, it seemed like a no-brainer for me to do this.“ Macy added that Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes also has a “great script“ and has “opened the door“ for many more films in the franchise.
