Painting a Crooked Cottage | ILLUSTRATION

YOU CAN VIEW THE IMAGE HERE; Okay so this one was interesting. I knew I wanted to do something with more detail, but I knew I had to love the image to be able to spend that much time within it. The idea was quick, a crooked old fantasy cottage, perhaps a pumpkin patch theme, within a forest. I wanted to really reinforce my knowledge of compositional line making to reinforce the viewers eyes. I tried to make as many lines as possible to draw the viewer in, every piece has me practicing one or several rules I try to follow. You can see the development skecthes for this one in my artstation post linked above, I designed the house first and then the environment I will probably move on and design the interior and the character(s) that live here too. I really enjoyed it in the end and although the start was difficult it just reinforced that what I do isnt easy and it takes time to create something good. Don’t always go with your first idea!
