Army Equipment Testing (1948)

Chatham, Kent. Various shots of 4 soldiers in uniform walking back and forth along a rocky path to test out army boots. This is one of the tests undertaken at the Ordnance Corps Test Centre. The poor men then walk up and down a muddy path. What a horrible job! Next we see them walking up and down in a trough of water. At night, we see the men testing rainproof wear and capes, walking about in heavy rain and past a wind machine. They are actually in ’the rain shed’ but some shots could pass for outside.
