Argentines clash with cops outside Congress over pension veto
Thousands reportedly gathered outside Argentina’s Congress buildings in Buenos Aires to vent their anger at President Javier Milei’s controversial move to reject a pensions rise amidst his drive of austerity measures.
Police resorted to firing pepper spray and rubber bullets at the crowds to disperse them as fences were torn down.
Lawmakers had failed to reach the two-thirds majority required to challenge the President’s plans.
