Russian passenger plane makes emergency landing in corn field

None of the 170 people on board were injured in the incident on Tuesday. The Ural Airlines Airbus A320 was on its way from Sochi to Omsk when pilots noticed a hydraulic system fault and chose to land in the nearby field. Loss of the hydraulics system can sometimes lead to a loss of flight control. Russia’s aviation agency has launched an investigation into the crash landing and has suspended the flight crew. And Russian aviation experts say that the landing may have been unnecessary, as the plane should have had backup systems.
