When a BF-109 Sliced Through a B-17

The All American, high over the skies of Tunisia was practically split in two by a BF-109. A testament to the ruggedness of these birds was that this one kept flying and got all the crew back safely to Biskra air base. Over the years many versions of this story have been embellished with the mistruths. We tried to stick to the facts for this one, leaving out embellishments such as the lashing together of parachutes to keep the tail on and falsehoods such as landing in England over 2000 miles away !
