Doctor Who - The Massacre - Episode 4 Clip

A clip from episode 4 of The Massacre (aka The Massacre of St. Bartholomew’s Eve), a Doctor Who serial featuring the First Doctor and Steven Taylor. Steven, angry with the Doctor for leaving a girl (Anne Chaplet) behind when he knew what was about to happen in history, has decided to leave the TARDIS. The Doctor’s speech here is one of my favorite moments from the original series. (And for those who don’t know how this ends up, Steven *does* rejoin the Doctor when he runs back to warn him about police approaching the TARDIS; at this point, Dodo has already boarded the ship, thinking it’s an actual police box.) (Sorry about the quality - The Massacre is one of the serials that was destroyed by the BBC, so this is from an unofficial reconstruction.)
