DEEP WEB • An interview with Christopher Bauder & Robert Henke
Learn more about the extraordinary audiovisual laser installation DEEP WEB at Kraftwerk Berlin. EventElevator has interviewed the artistic masterminds behind the show: Christopher Bauder (WHITEvoid • KINETIC LIGHTS), Robert Henke (Ableton) as well as the founder of LaserAnimation Sollinger, Michael Sollinger.
Tech facts about the installation:
• The DEEP WEB installation uses 175 Winch LED units from KINETIC LIGHTS.
• DEEP WEB uses 12 of the PHAENON X 30000 series of high-power laser projectors from LaserAnimation Sollinger.
• The WHITEvoid team uses a custom built sphere fixture that is made of plastic and hollow on the inside. The crew fill the balls with water to get the optimum weight for smooth movement and for even diffusion of laser light through the sphere.
• The control software is custom built in house with the visual programming environment TouchDesigner. It can respond to external inputs to the software i.e MIDI, DMX and OSC protocols, for tight intergration with other systems, like for example Ableton Live.
