Orphaned by ISIS

Amina is unlikely to see her mother again. In Iraq, the woman was accused of aiding and abetting ISIS* and sentenced to life imprisonment. Her daughter was behind bars with her until her aunt found her and successfully freed the girl. There are many stories like this one. Children of those recruited by ISIS* are imprisoned with their mothers or put in orphanages. Their relatives often know nothing of their fate. There are millions of children around the world who have no parents. All of them need help. To remind of this, World Orphans Day has been observed.
