Italy: Protesters march against green pass in Milan

Protesters hit the streets of Milan on Sunday, in a sign of disapproval towards the government’s policy on the ’Green Pass’ digital COVID-19 certificate. The protest comes two weeks after authorities introduced the ’super green pass’, tightening the restrictions on unvaccinated residents. A number of EU countries have recently introduced tighter restrictions amid fears of a fifth wave of COVID-19 and the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of the virus. Italy saw over 28,000 new daily cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, according to the latest data compiled by Our World in Data.
