This is my performance of Felix Mendelssohn’s fifth sonata, the shortest of his six sonatas (Opus 65) for organ. The piece is built on an unknown chorale tune that Mendelssohn himself may have written, and follows the form of a Chorale-form Andante, followed by an Andante con moto movement with active pedal, and finally a grand Allegro section.
Andante: 0:00
Andante con moto: 1:30
Allegro: 4:42
