The first stars turning on in the Universe

Animation / simulation by NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope team of the formation of the first stars in the Universe. In the future, it is conceivable that the James Webb Space Telescope will be able to image these stars directly, probing the true first stars in the Universe that formed when the Universe was under 100 million years old.
