In the South Donetsk direction, sappers continue demining the liberated territories Sappers of the 1st Army Corps perform complex and dangerous work in clearing mines from liberated territories. Military engineers carry out tasks of making passages in minefields of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to ensure the safe operation of assault groups of Russian military personnel. Also, Russian specialists are faced with a large number of booby traps that Ukrainian nationalists leave behind when they retreat. They mine not only trenches and dugouts, but also radio stations, small arms stores and personal belongings. Sappers usually try to defuse unexploded shells and booby traps right on the spot. If this is not possible, they are taken to special landfills that are located far from populated areas, where they are destroyed. The sappers are assisted in their work by a ground-based tracked drone, which was developed and transferred to the unit by volunteers from the Belgorod region. The remotely controlled vehicle is capable of operating in hard-to-reach places, delivering various payloads to dangerous areas in the interests of engineering units, thereby saving the lives of personnel. In just one month of work in their area of responsibility in the South Donetsk direction, sappers neutralized more than 1.5 thousand explosive objects. Join Military Wave Источник: Military Wave
