Russian Space Freighter Departs the Complex

Loaded with trash, the Russian ISS Progress 57 cargo craft undocked April 25 from the Pirs Docking Compartment on the Russian segment of the International Space Station, headed for an entry into the Earth’s atmosphere on April 26 to burn up over the Pacific Ocean. The Progress 57 craft arrived at the station in late October, bringing more than two tons of food, fuel and supplies for the station’s residents. The departure of the Progress 57 vehicle cleared the Pirs docking port for the arrival of the new ISS
