Wolf pack and their pups walking down old railroad grade in northern Minnesota

The entire Wiyapka Lake Pack in July with all six pups still alive! And if you turn up the volume at the end you will hear them all howling! Wiyapka Lake has been a small pack since it formed in early 2019 with the pack largely being just Wolf V076, the breeding female, and her mate. Since 2019, the pair has produced three litters (2019, 2020, and 2021) totaling 17 pups but only 1 of those pups has survived to adulthood so far. One out of 5 pups survived in 2019 and 0 out of 6 pups survived last year. We will see about the pups from this year! And the one pup that did survive, Wolf V095, died of unknown causes this past summer. So, the Wiyapka Lake Pack really has not added any pups to the overall population given the low pup survival.
