Terminator 3: The Deterioration of the T-850 aka Arnold Schwarzenegger

Stan Winston and his team of artists & FX wizards returned to an apocalyptic world for the movie Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003), directed by Jonathan Mostow. For this installment in the franchise, the T-850 Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) again travels back in time to protect John (Nick Stahl), now an adult, and his future wife, Kate Brewster (Claire Danes) from termination by the T-X (Kristanna Loken). As in The Terminator & Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Schwarzenegger deteriorates throughout the film, revealing the metallic understructure beneath his organic flesh. To achieve this illusion, the SWS crew created a variety of state-of-the-art makeups & puppets, which would occasionally be augmented with CGI to achieve even more extreme damage.
