Dangerous Teaser by David Lynch (1991)

Taken from the DVD release of Dangerous: The Short Films - because I’ve had enough of seeing this in crappy 240p quality. This is the trailer for Michael Jackson’s 1991 album Dangerous, directed by David Lynch. Jackson had personally called Lynch on the phone to ask him for the role. The original source file is 720x480, 30FPS. This has been upscaled to 1845x1080, 60FPS. The film pice itself uses a variety of special effects, including stop-motion for the metallic trees, and many composite shots of flames and fabric being overlaid. David Lynch referred to Jackson as ’a real nice guy’ and that they spoke for some time about Lynch’s 1980 film The Elephant Man, which Jackson was fond of.
