What is the Jangle Pop Music Genre? | An Introduction - PART 1! (, Let’s Active The Smiths)

Time to go to jangle pop school! Who else loves this subgenre of rock? It’s closely related sister is power pop! In this video I explain what jangle pop is, discuss the origins of jangle pop, and provide a list of bands to get started with in your jangle pop listening journey! The Beatles, the Byrds, and the Searchers, Everly Brothers had a hand in starting this genre. Kudos to them! Big Star, Badfinger, and The Beach Boys also were influencers of jangle pop groups of the 80s. I show jangle pop items from my vinyl record collection and CD collection.
