Kolmanskop - July 2011

A visit to Kolmanskop, an abandoned diamond mining village established by German colonists, a few kilometers inland of Luderitz Bay in the then South West Africa, after diamonds were discovered there in 1908. Th village was finally abandoned in 1954. See also my video of an impromptu performance, in the Kolmanskop gymnasium hall, by the University of the Free State Choir who visited on the same day
